Pattern

Hãy / Xin / Mời + V · V + đi / nhé

Hãy gives a polite command, xin is used to ask for permission or a favour, and mời invites someone: Mời chị ngồi. Add đi to urge (Ăn đi!) and nhé to soften (Đợi tôi nhé). For “don't”, use đừng.

Tip: “Cho tôi + noun” is the everyday way to ask for something: Cho tôi một ly nước.
